Over a year ago, I dreamed of quitting my job as a teacher to write and perform comedy. The good news is that I realized half of that dream - I quit my job. As for the comedy... I've been coming up with bits, premises, jokes, etc., but the last three times I performed resulted in bombs, fat ugly bombs.

I don't mind bombing every once an a while, but three times in a row does damage to the ego. One thing I learned from years of grading high school english papers is that very seldom first drafts are good enough for final drafts. Think about how many careers have been lost or damaged because of irresponsible and knee-jerk posted on social media. On the flip side, how many careers and alternate modes of income have been created because of responsible and well thought out posts on social media?

My point is that we are lucky to live in a day an age where we have a voice that can be heard and validated by others who share our same values or perspectives. But. We have to manicure out thoughts into images and words that are clear, if not, we will not connect with our audience.

The Jeff Hall Show is an outlet for me to write, perform, and gather feedback from people who want to laugh.

Expect nothing except for raw material in various forms such as:

and whatever else that happens.

A poem about grammarphiles and grammar lovers.

Here is a poem I wrote about grammarphiles. I love grammar, but I don't believe the way we teach grammar is the most appropriate way to do so. This poem is also an ulterior excuse for writer's block. The fact is it's hard for me to sit down and write.

What's even more difficult is making your writings public. I am not my worse critique, but I never think my work is good. At this point, what do I have to lose? I'm going to upload my work into the internet and let that beast be the judge.
